The Course follows the traditional route from the 1960's apart from one change on Somerset Road. There are some swift downhills and Two climbs per lap (not extreme!) Being a 3 lap course spectators will have ample opportunities to support and cheer on the athletes. Mile markers will be marked on the ground (exact miles) and closest lamposts. Please follow all marshalls directions for your own safety and the smooth running of the event.

THE START
The race starts on the track. Prior to the start runners must assemble on the finishing line facing the opposite way to the track direction. i.e – clockwise! You will be led up to the official start line.

THE ROUTE
Athletes will run around 450m clockwise on the track then head out of the athletic arena. You will make your way to the start of the 3 lap route. After 3 laps you retrace the path back to the track.

The FINISH
The finish is the main finish line on the athletics track.Just straight in on the 100m sprint!! After finishing please warm down round the track or keep to the right to avoid coming back on to the path of runners finishing. There will be mile markers and exact miles sprayed on the ground. Marshall’s will be at important points. It is essential to follow marshall crossing points as the course has been measured to these points . The Roads will not be closed to traffic! STRICTLY NO HEADPHONES.

THE ROADS WILL NOT BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC
Whilst running you must keep to the left hand side , please run on the pavement where possible.

WINNERS MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE TO COLLECT PRIZE.

Water stations? At 3.5, 6.5, 9.5 miles and at the finish.

Goody bag? Yes.

First Aid? If you are looking at the grandstand they will be on the right hand side

Are there things for children to do in the park? Yes, a playground is next to the lake and tennis courts with a cafe and open terrace. There is also a crazy golf course.

If I get lost, lose my number before the race what shall I do? Let me know as soon as possible and come to the race office to collect a new one/change details. If you lose your way ring me... 07737335296.

If I enter on the day do I count for prizes - Yes

How many to score for team- 3 in a Uka registered team 1st Claim road.

If I give my number to someone what shall I do - You must inform us, thats all we ask. It is essential the person running is the persons correct number. Come and sign a new declaration form on the day or drop it off to me signed at the track on a Tuesday or Thursday night.

I am nervous/new to running , will I be ok in this race. Yes, we have lots of new runners this year. Don't be afraid of previous years results. The dynamics of running have changed over the years in the UK.

I would like some help with my training, can you help - Yes, mail us and I will put you in touch with someone. If you live out the area still ask, we know many coaches/groups/clubs in the London area.
